The Kalachakra inititation has become extremely popular, I personally believe that the Kalachakra approach has become more and more in-sync with the modern times. Almost everyone on Earth has something to do, work, family, kids and the list could go on. The Kalachakra Tantra was first given to the King of Shambala who wanted to practice Dharma, yet continue to enjoy his life and rule his kingdom ie: Live and Work.
The Kalachakra initiated will often use the Kalachakra Mandala to help them meditate. All that is in an article I wrote on my Thangka Blog :
